About Growing Communities Foundation
“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
— Matthew 9:37
Why This Matters
I grew up in this neighborhood — a place filled with families, elders, and children trying to make it day by day. God led me back here, walking these streets house by house, talking with neighbors about needs, hope, and the dream of restoring what was lost.
These conversations planted a seed: a vision for healing, rebuilding, and growing a community that cares for its own. Growing Communities Foundation was born from that calling — a mission fueled by faith, compassion, and agape love.
Scripture tells us:
“True religion is this: to look after the widows and the fatherless in their distress.”
— James 1:27
That is the heartbeat of this foundation. Helping elders. Supporting parents. Protecting children. Rebuilding homes. Regrowing neighborhoods. Restoring dignity.
The Neighborhood We Serve
These homes and buildings once held families, children, businesses, and life. Now they sit abandoned… but not forgotten. God does not overlook these streets — and neither do we.
Our Vision for Restoration
Our Greenhomes will be more than structures — they will be living community centers that heal the land and serve the people:
- ✔ Community gardens that grow organic produce, medicinal plants, and fruit trees
- ✔ A community kitchen for shared meals, teaching, cooking classes, and daily use
- ✔ Tables for gatherings, fellowship, mentorship, and support
- ✔ A play and learning center for mothers and children
- ✔ Filtered rainwater harvesting systems built directly into the structure
- ✔ Geothermal heating and cooling built into the earth
- ✔ A chicken coop with inside egg boxes for accessibility
- ✔ Chicken runners throughout the gardens to naturally fertilize the land
- ✔ A waterfall, berm wall, and small stream running through the gardens
- ✔ Outdoor restrooms connected by a beautiful walkway
These spaces will nourish the body, encourage the spirit, and restore dignity. This is not just construction — it is revival.
Our Purpose
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did it unto Me.”
— Matthew 25:40
We are here to lift up the elders, support families, protect children, feed the hungry, heal the land, and gather the workers — because the harvest is ready.
